Orchard Road

For many visitors, Orchard Road is the heart and soul of Singapore's busy nightlife. Here, along with the adjacent areas of Scotts Road and Tanglin Road, you will find every kind of bar, disco and nightclub to please every reveller.

Many of the best known discos are still located in hotels, while other favourites can be found in Orchard Plaza, Orchard Towers, Tanglin Shopping Centre, Pacific Plaza and Ngee Ann City.

Jazz lovers should head for Cuppage Place and Singapore Marriott Hotel which feature jazz clubs or lounges, often with live jazz bands performing.

An area of restored chophouses, Emerald Hill features a wine bar, a cosy and relaxing pub featuring music and mixed cocktails, a bar serving dozens of different beers from around the world and many other quaint watering holes. There is also a large open-air beer garden which provides an opportunity to rest from shopping and to watch Singapore stroll by.

Pub crawling is easy along Orchard Road, with public buses and the MRT running right down this bustling hive of activity. There is also the Singapore Trolley, a special bus service linking Tanjong Pagar, Boat Quay and Orchard Road until 9 o'clock at night. Passengers on the Singapore Trolley receive attractive discounts at nightspots along its route, an advantage when sampling as many different spots as possible each evening!
